Ms Aminatou Haidar Visits Kaduna State
PRESIDENT OF THE SAHARAWI HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDER (NGO)
On Monday, October 5, 2009, President of the Saharawi Human rights Defender (NGO) Ms Aminatou Haidar visited Kaduna State. She was conducted round various projects sites with a view to acquainting her with the development projects being executed by Kaduna State Government. Ms Aminatou and her entourage were conducted round the construction site of the New 150mld Zaria Water Treatment Plant by the General Manager of Kaduna State Water Board Engr. Hassan Mohammed.
The New Water Treatment Plant is a Regional Scheme intended to serve towns and villages in six Local government Areas. The towns and villages to be served include Zaria City, Wusasa, Tudun Wada, Sabon Gari, Samaru, Shika, Giwa, Mararraban Yakawada, Basawa, Hunkuyi, Kudan, Dambo, Maigana, Soba, Dutsenwai, Kubau and Pambeguwa. Dar-Al Handasah are the Consultants supervising the construction of the New Water Treatment Plant which was flagged off with the laying of foundation stone on May 13, 2009.
Ms Aminatou was in Kaduna in continuation with her struggle for an independent state of Western Sahara from Morocco.
