New Pumps and Power Conditioning Equipment
New pumps would soon be installed at the Raw Water Intake Pumping Stations of Kaduna State Water Board, Malali.
This was disclosed by the General Manager, Kaduna State Water Board Engr. Hassan Mohammed while inspecting 10 sets of pumps delivered by the contractors handlingthe rehabilitation of Water Treatment Plants and Booster Stations within Kaduna town.
The delivery of the new pumps along with electric motors and panels according to Engr. Hassan further testifies the commitment of Kaduna State Government to the welfare of the people. He expressed gratitude to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State for the unprecedented attention given to the water sector.
Conducting the General Manager and Management Staff round, the Project Manager, Engr. Kabiru Ahmed Rufa� explained that installation of the new equipment will commence immediately with a view to achieving further improvement in water supply within Kaduna town and environs.
Similarly the AGM Operations of the Water Board Engr. John Bature Gimba conducted the General Manager round the Power Conditioning Equipment to be installed at the water works with a view to stabilizing electricity supply to operational equipment at the Water Works.
Contract for the rehabilitation of Water Treatment Plants and Booster Stations within Kaduna town was awarded to a joint venture of Unipumps Nigeria Limited and Balaji Industrial and Agricultural Castings in May 2008 at the cost of N829.5million, with a completion period of 15 months.
