The 25 new pumps procured by Kaduna State Government for Kaduna Metropolitan Water Supply Schemes, under the ongoing National Urban Water Sector Reform Project are being installed. Presently, old pumps are being pulled out and replaced with new ones at Raw Water Intake and Booster Stations, with a view to further improving water supply within the metropolis and environs. The intermittent interruption in water supply currently experienced in parts of the metropolis as a result of the rehabilitation work is highly regretted. Significant improvement in water supply will be achieved as soon as the installation work is completed and the new pumps commissioned. The water supply schemes of Zaria, Kafanchan, Kagoro, Zonkwa and Saminaka are similarly being rehabilitated under the same project.
