World Bank Mission Inspects Projects, Hails Kaduna State Government
The Task Team Leader of the World Bank Assisted First National Urban Water Sector Reform Project Engr. Hassan Madu Kida has commended Kaduna State Government for its commitment to the provision of potable water supply.
The Task Team Leader made the commendation at the end of a five day inspection tour of water supply project sites in Kaduna, Zaria, Kafanchan, Kagoro, Zonkwa and Saminaka in Kaduna State. He urged the consultants and contractors on site to redouble effort with a view to completing their assignments within the stipulated timeframe.
He rated Kaduna State Water Board as the leading Water Supply Agency in the implementation of the Urban Water Sector Reform Project and urged staff of the Project Implementation Unit to put more efforts towards successful completion of the project.
Engr. Kida was also at the construction site of the 150mld (million litres daily) Regional Water Supply Scheme in Zaria where he expressed the readiness of the World Bank to support the people oriented project where necessary.
The Task Team Leader was in Kaduna along with the National Project Coordinator Engr. Benson Ajisegiri and some key staff of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture & Water Resources and Federal Ministry of Finance. The Mission was conducted round the project sites by the Project Coordinator of Kaduna State Water Board, Engr. Kabiru A. Rufaí on behalf of the General Manager, Engr. Hassan Mohammed.
