Landlords to ensure that tenants settle their water bills promptly as liabilities are on premises.
NEW CONNECTION
New customers are to purchase registration forms at the nearest district/zonal office. The form contains details of the registration procedures. Those that have been unofficially connected are advised to regularize the connection immediately as illegal connection attracts disconnection and prosecution in accordance with the existing laws.
REASONS FOR DISCONNECTION:
Failure to settle water bills within a period specified in the bill.
Failure to repair leaking pipes and dripping taps.
Any other form of breach of contract.
RECONNECTION:
Disconnected customers could only be reconnected after settling their outstanding bills and reconnection fees. Illegal reconnection also attracts prosecution.
